Sennelier Soft Pastels – Set of 48 Full Sticks, Specially Selected for Landscapes

Product Description SENNELIER À L’ÉCU PASTELS It took more than three years, at the turn of the 20th century, to formulate the Sennelier range of soft à l’écu pastels, creating one of the widest color palettes available in pastels. This palette of tones has evolved over the course of the century, but the heart of its production process remains unchanged. A Sennelier soft pastel is made from high-quality pure pigments, ground with a transparent natural binder. The high-quality composition of à l’écu pastels results from a perfect balance between binder and pigment. For graduated shades, increasing quantities of fine mineral fillers are added, eventually tending towards white. Their exceptional brilliance is due to the pigments and natural mineral fillers discovered by Sennelier in 1905 and used ever since. The Sennelier cylindrical pastel manufacturing process does not compress the paste, and the pastel dries naturally in the open air. The longevity of an artwork is ensured by the quality of the pastel, but also by the quality of the surface. When applying many overlapping layers, it is preferable to fix between layers. However, avoid fixing the final layer too heavily, as this would diminish the original vibrancy of the tones. À L’ÉCU PASTELS À l’écu pastels: 525 graduated shades approaching white, available in 4 formats. Large pastels: 62 shades, comfortable to use and ideal for broad, even coverage.
