Sennelier Soft Pastels, Half Sticks – Box of 40 High-Quality Portrait Pastels

Product description SENNELIER ECUS PASTELS At the turn of the 20th century, it took more than three years to develop the Sennelier range of soft pastels à l’écu, creating one of the widest colour palettes available in pastels. This palette of shades has evolved over the course of the century, but the heart of the manufacturing process remains unchanged. A Sennelier soft pastel is made from high-quality pure pigments ground with a transparent natural binder. The high quality of the pastels à l’écu comes from the perfect balance between binder and pigment. For graduated shades, increasing amounts of fine mineral powders are added, eventually tending towards white. Their exceptional brilliance is due to the pigments and natural mineral powders discovered by Sennelier in 1905 and used ever since. The Sennelier cylindrical pastel manufacturing process does not compress the paste, and the pastel is left to dry naturally in the open air. The longevity of an artwork is ensured by the quality of the pastel, as well as that of the support. When applying several layers, it is best to fix between layers. However, avoid fixing the final layer too heavily, as this would diminish the original vibrancy of the colours. PASTELS À L’ÉCU Pastels à l’écu: 525 graduated shades close to white, available in 4 sizes. Large pastels: 62 shades, comfortable to use and ideal for covering large areas with great consistency.
