Sennelier Set of 24 Iridescent Soft Pastels – High-Pigment Professional Quality

Product Description SENNELIER ÉCU PASTELS It took more than three years, around the turn of the 20th century, to formulate the Sennelier range of soft Écu pastels, creating one of the widest pastel color palettes. This palette of shades has evolved over the century, but the core of its manufacturing process remains unchanged. A Sennelier soft pastel is made from high-quality pure pigments ground with a transparent natural binder. The high-quality composition of Écu pastels results from a perfect balance between binder and pigment. For gradations, increasing amounts of mineral fillers are added, eventually tending toward white. Their exceptional brilliance comes from the pigment and natural mineral fillers discovered by Sennelier in 1905 and used ever since. The Sennelier cylindrical pastel manufacturing process does not compress the paste, and the pastel dries naturally in the open air. The lifespan of a work is ensured by the quality of the pastel, but also by the quality of the support. When applying substantial overlapping layers, it is best to fix between layers. However, avoid fixing the final layer too heavily, as this would diminish the original vibrancy of the shades.
